Winter Special Dalia Gond Ka Halwa

Ingredients:

  • Ghee (Clarified butter) 3 tbs
  • Gond (Edible gum) 3 tbs
  • Ghee (Clarified butter) 2 tbs
  • Gandum ka dalia (Wheat porridge) ¼ Cup
  • Taza doodh (Fresh milk) 1 litre
  • Sugar ½ Cup or to taste
  • Jaifil powder (Nutmeg powder) ¼ tsp
  • Elaichi powder (Cardamom powder) 1 tsp
  • Cocoa powder 1 tbs
  • Badam (Almonds) sliced 2-3 tbs
  • Pista (Pistachios) sliced 2-3 tbs
  • Badam (Almonds) sliced
  • Pista (Pistachios) sliced

Directions:

In a wok,add clarified butter & let it melt.

Add edible gum & fry on medium flame until it puffs up.

In a mortal & pestle,add fried edible gum,crush to make a paste & set aside.

In the same wok,add clarified butter & let it melt.

Add wheat porridge & fry for 2-3 minutes.

Add fresh milk,mix well,bring it to boil & cook on low flame until milk is reduced to half (8-10 minutes) & keep stirring in between,cover & cook on low flame until porridge (dalia) is fully cooked (12-15 minutes).

Add prepared gum (gond) paste,mix well & cook on low flame until it thickens (8-10 minutes).

Add sugar,nutmeg powder,cardamom powder,cocoa powder,mix well & cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes.

Add almonds,pistachios,mix well & cook until ghee separates (6-8 minutes).

Garnish with almonds,pistachios & serve!
