Walnut Cake

Ingredients:

  • Walnuts 250 gms
  • Darchini powder (Cinnamon powder) ½ tsp
  • Jaifil powder (Nutmeg powder) 1/4 tsp
  • Honey 1/3 Cup
  • Makhan (Butter) 250 gms (room temperature)
  • Bareek cheeni (Caster sugar) ½ Cup
  • Anday (Eggs) 3
  • Vanilla essence ½ tbs
  • Soji (Semolina) ½ Cup
  • Maida (All-purpose flour) sifted 3 Cups
  • Namak (Salt) ½ tsp

Directions:

Coarsely chop walnuts with the help of the knife.

In frying pan,add walnuts dry roast until fragrant.

Add cinnamon powder,nutmeg powder and mix well.

Turn off the flame,add honey,mix well & set aside.

In bowl,add butter,caster sugar and whisk well.

Add eggs,vanilla essence and whisk until well combined.

Add semolina,gradually add all-purpose flour,salt and mix until well combined.

Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Knead dough again and divide into 3/4th & 1/4th Part.

In loaf pan,place butter paper,take 3/4th part,spread evenly and make a cavity.

Prick with fork,add walnut mixture and place 1/4th remaining part dough and spread evenly to cover the filling properly then prick with fork.

Bake in preheated oven at 170 C for 30-35 minutes.

Let it cool down.

Cut into slices & serve!
