Ingredients:
Prepare Daal:
-Cooking oil ¼ Cup
-Pyaz (Onion) sliced 1 medium
-Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 tsp
-Tamatar (Tomato) sliced 1 medium
-Lehsan (Garlic) crushed ½ tbs
-Hari mirch (Green chilli) crushed 1 tbs
-Adrak (Ginger) crushed 1 tbs
-Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) ½ tsp or to taste
-Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) 1 tsp
-Kashmiri lal mirch (Kashmiri red chilli) powder ½ tsp
-Chana daal (Split Bengal gram) ¾ Cup (soaked 1 hour)
-Arhar daal (Split pigeon pea) ¾ Cup (soaked 1 hour)
-Water 5 Cups or as required
-Hot water 1 Cup or as required
-Himalayan pink salt 1 tsp or to taste
-Sabut dhania (Coriander seeds) roasted & crushed ½ tsp
-National Crushed Pickle 2 tbs
Prepare Achari Mirch Tadka:
-National Crushed Pickle 2 tbs
-Sabut dhania (Coriander seeds) roasted & crushed 1 tsp
-Zeera (Cumin seeds) roasted & crushed 1 tsp
-Hari mirch (Green chillies) large & deseeded 4-5
-Cooking oil 3-4 tbs
-Lehsan (Garlic) sliced 2 cloves
-Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 tsp
-Sabut lal mirch (Button red chillies) 3-4
-Kashmiri lal mirch (Kashmiri red chilli) powder ¼ tsp
-Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped
Directions:
Prepare Daal:
-In a pot,add cooking oil,onion & fry until light golden.
-Add cumin seeds,tomato,garlic,green chilli,ginger,mix well & cook on medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
-Add red chilli powder,turmeric powder,kashmiri red chilli powder,mix well & cook for 1-2 minutes.
-Add split Bengal gram,split peagon pea & mix well.
-Add water,mix well & bring it to boil,cover & cook on low flame until lentils are tender (1 hour).
-Turn off the flame & mash well with the help of masher.
-Turn on the flame,add hot water & mix well.
-Add pink salt,coriander seeds,crushed pickle,mix well & set aside.
Prepare Achari Mirch Tadka:
-In a small bowl,add crushed pickle,coriander seeds,cumin seeds & mix well.
-Stuff green chillies with prepared achari masala.
-In a frying pan,add cooking oil,garlic & mix well.
-Add cumin seeds,button red chillies,achar stuffed chillies & fry until golden.
-Add kashmiri red chilli powder & stir well.
-Add prepared tadka on daal,fresh coriander & serve with boiled rice & salad!
