Ingredients:
Katoris:
- Maida (All-purpose flour) sifted 2 Cups
- Namak (Salt) 1 tsp or to taste
- Ghee 2 tbs
- Water ¾ Cup or as required
- Cooking oil for frying
Aate ka Halwa:
- Water 1 & ½ Cup
- Sugar 1 Cup
- Ghee 1 Cup
- Badam (Almonds) ¼ Cup
- Chakki ka atta (Whole wheat flour) sifted 1 Cup
- Chandi warq (Edible Silver leaf)
- Pista (Pistachio)
Directions:
Prepare Katoris:
In a bowl,add all-purpose flour,salt and mix well.
Add ghee and mix well until it crumbles.
Gradually add water & knead until dough is formed,cover & let it rest for 15 minutes.
Grease hand with oil and knead dough again.
Take a small dough and make a ball,sprinkle dry flour and roll out with the help of rolling pin & prick with fork.
Take a small heat proof bowl & place in the center of rolled dough,fold the dough around the bowl & cut the folded edges with knife (makes 12).
In a wok,heat cooking oil & fry katori wrapped with dough on low flame until golden & crispy and remove small bowl with the help of the tong.
How to Store?
Can be stored in zip lock bag for up to 2 weeks.
Prepare Aate ka Halwa:
In a saucepan,add water,sugar,mix well & bring it to boil,cook until sugar is dissolved & set aside for later use.
In a wok,add ghee and let it melt.
Add almonds and fry for 1-2 minutes and reserve for later use.
In the same wok,add whole wheat flour & cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes or until it changes color & keep mixing in between.
Now add prepared sugar syrup,mix well continuously and cook until it leaves sides of the pot (approx. 2-3 minutes).
Add fried almonds,mix well and cook for a minute.
Assembling:
On prepared katori,add halwa and garnish with edible silver leaves,pistachio & serve!

Thora thora ker ka pani shamil karein aur ghond ker dough tayyar ker lein aur dhak ker 15 minutes kliya rakh dein.
Haathon ko oil sa grease karein aur dough ko dubara ghond lein.
Chota dough lein aur ball bana lein,maida chirak dein aur rolling pin ki madad sa bail lein aur fork sa prick ker lein.
Rolled dough ka bech mein chota heat proof bowl rakh dein aur dough ko bowl per fold ker lein aur knife ki madad sa folded edges ko cut ker lein (makes 12).
Karhai mein cooking oil garam karein aur katori wrapped dough ko halki ancch per golden & crispy hunay tak fry ker lein aur tong ki madad sa small bowl ko nikal lein.
How to Store?
2 weeks kliya zip lock bag mein dal ker store ker saktay han.
Prepare Aate ka Halwa:
Saucepan mein pani aur cheeni dal ker ache tarhan mix karein aur ubal anay ka bad cheeni ghul janay tak paka lein & bad mein use kernay kliya side per rakh dein.
Karhai mein ghee dal ker melt karein.
Badam dal ker 1-2 minutes kliya fry ker lein & bad mein use kernay side mein rakh dein.
Us he karhai mein chakki ka atta dal dein aur halki ancch per 20-25 minutes ya color change hunay tak paka lein aur bech bech mein mix kertay rahein.
Ab tayyar sheera dal ker musalsal ache tarhan mix kertay rahein aur pot ki sides chornay tak paka lein (approx. 2-3 minutes).
Fried badam dal ker mix karein aur 1 minute kliya paka lein.
Assembling:
Prepared katori mein halwa dal dein,chandi warq aur pista sa garnish ker ka serve karein!
