Fried Fish Talapia

Ingredients:

Prepare Fried Fish Spice Mix:

  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 & ½ tbs
  • Sabut dhania (Coriander seeds) 1 & ½ tbs
  • Ajwain (Carom seeds) 1 & ½ tsp
  • Raidana (Mustard seeds) ½ tsp
  • Sabut lal mirch (Button red chillies) 6-7
  • Namak (Salt) 1 & ½ tsp or to taste
  • Tatri (Citric acid) ¼ tsp
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) ½ tbs or to taste
  • Haldi powder (Turmeric powder) 1 & ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder ¼ tsp
  • Baisan (Gram flour) 2 tbs
  • Chawal ka atta (Rice flour) 2 tbs
  • Water as required
  • Sirka (Vinegar) 3-4 tbs
  • Namak (Salt) ½ tbs or to taste
  • Talapia fish (Whole) 1 kg
  • Cooking oil for frying

Spicy Tamarind Sauce (Imli ki chutney):

  • Podina (Mint leaves) handful
  • Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) handful
  • Hari mirch (Green chillies) 7-8
  • Sabut lal mirch (Button red chillies) 2-3
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 tsp
  • Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
  • Imli pulp (Tamarind pulp) ½ Cup
  • Chaat masala
  • Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) chopped

Directions:

Prepare Fried Fish Spice Mix:

In a spice mixer,add cumin seeds,coriander seeds,carom seeds,mustard seeds,button red chillies, salt,citric acid,red chilli powder,turmeric powder,garam masala powder,gram flour,rice flour and grind well to make powder.

Can be stored in an airtight jar for up to 2 months (makes: 1 kg fish).

In a bowl,add water,vinegar,salt & mix well.

Add fish & rest it for 30 minutes.

Add marks or cuts on both sides of fish with the help of sharp knife.

Sprinkle & rub the prepared fried fish spice mix all over the fish and marinate for 30 minutes.

In a wok,heat cooking oil & fry fish on medium low flame from both sides until golden brown.

Spicy Tamarind Sauce (Imli ki chutney):

In a spice mixer,add mint leaves,fresh coriander,green chillies,button red chillies,cumin seeds,salt, tamarind pulp & blend well.Spicy tamarind sauce is ready!

Sprinkle chaat masala,fresh coriander & serve with spicy tamarind sauce!
