Ingredients:

  • Oil 3 tbs
  • Pyaz (Onion) sliced 2 medium
  • Tamatar (Tomatoes) sliced 3 medium
  • Oil ½ Cup
  • Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) 1 tbs
  • Chicken boneless cubes ½ kg
  • Haldee powder (Turmeric powder) 1 tsp
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 & ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder ½ tsp
  • Namak (Salt) 1 tsp or to taste
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chili powder) ½ tbs
  • Hari mirch (Green chilies) 2-3
  • Yakhni (Chicken stock) 2 Cups
  • Lobia (Black eyed beans) 1 & ½ Cups (boiled with salt)
  • Hari mirch (Green chilies) 2
  • Qasuri meethi (Dried fenugreek leaves) 1 tbs
  • Garam masala powder ½ tsp

Beet Root Pickle

  • Sarson ka tail (Mustard oil) 3 tbs
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) ½ tsp
  • Saunf (Fennel seeds) ½ tsp
  • Kalonji (Nigella seeds) ½ tsp
  • Raidana (Mustard seeds) ½ tsp
  • Dhania (Coriander seeds) ½ tsp
  • Lehsan (Garlic) julienne 3 cloves
  • Chukandar (Beet root) cubes 2 medium
  • Hari mirch (Green chilies) 4
  • Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
  • Haldee powder (Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
  • Sirka (Vinegar) 2-3 tbs or to taste

Directions:

In pot,add oil,onion and fry until golden brown.

Add tomatoes,mix well and cook until tomatoes are soft.

Take out in a bowl,blend well & set aside.

In pot,add oil,ginger garlic paste and mix.

Add chicken and cook until chicken changes color.

Add turmeric powder,cumin seeds,garam masala powder,salt and red chili powder,mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add blended onion & tomatoes and mix well.

Add green chilies and mix,add stock and mix well.

Cover and cook on low flame for 3-4 minutes.

Add black eyed beans and mix well.

Add green chilies,dried fenugreek leaves and garam masala powder,cover and put it on simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Serve with rice.

Beet Root Pickle

In frying pan,add mustard oil,cumin seeds,fennel seeds,nigella seeds,mustard seeds,coriander seeds and fry for 1 minute.

Add garlic and mix.

Add beet root and mix well for 3 minutes.

Add green chilies,salt,turmeric powder and mix well for 3 minutes.

Add vinegar and mix well.

Let it cool and store in a dry & clean jar.
