Tomato Chutney 2 Ways (imli & Pyaz combo)

These two tomato chutneys can be make any snack or dish exciting. Imli tomato chutney goes well with snacks and onion tomato chutney is served with meals like daal chawal, parathas etc. Do give them a try. #HappyCookingToYou

Ingredients:

Imli & Tamatar ki Chutney

  • Tamatar (Tomatoes) cubed 4 large
  • Gur (Jaggery) ½ Cup
  • Imli pulp (Tamarind pulp) ½ Cup
  • Kashmiri lal mirch (Kashmiri red chilli) powder 1 tbs
  • Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
  • Lal mirch powder (red chilli powder) 1 tsp or to taste
  • Kala namak (Black salt) ½ tsp
  • Zeera powder (Cumin powder) ½ tsp
  • Kala namak (Black salt) ½ tsp
  • Sonth (Dried ginger powder) ½ tsp
  • Pani (Water) 1/4 Cup or as required

Tamatar & Pyaz ki Chutney

  • Cooking oil 2-3 tbs
  • Pyaz (Onion) sliced 1 large
  • Lehsan (Garlic) cloves ½ Cup
  • Hari mirch (Green chillies) 8-10
  • Sabut lal mirch (Button red chillies) 3-4
  • Tamatar (Tomatoes) cubed 4 large
  • Namak (Salt) ½ tsp or to taste
  • Zeera powder (Cumin powder) 1 tsp
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder) 1 tsp or to taste
  • Pani (Water) 2-3 tbs or as required
  • Boiled water 1/4 Cup or as required

Tadka:

  • Cooking oil 3-4 tbs
  • Lehsan (Garlic) sliced 2 cloves
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1/4 tsp
  • Kary pata (Curry leaves) 10-12

Directions:

In pot,add tomatoes,jaggery,tamarind pulp,Kashmiri red chilli powder,salt,red chilli powder,black salt, cumin powder,dried ginger powder and water,mix well and bring it to boil,cover and cook on low flame for 12-15 minutes.

Let it cool down.

In blender jar,add cooked tomato mixture and blend well.

Can be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Tamatar & Pyaz ki Chutney

In wok,add cooking oil,onion and fry until translucent & take out in a bowl.

In wok,add garlic,green chillies,button red chilies and fry for 1 minute & take out in a bowl.

In wok,add tomatoes and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add salt,cumin powder,red chilli powder and mix well.

Add water,mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Let it cool down.

In blender jar,add onion&garlic mixture,cooked tomato mixture,boiled water and blend well.

Prepare Tadka:

In frying pan,add cooking oil,garlic and fry until light golden.

Add cumin seeds,curry leaves and mix well.

Pout tadka in blended tomato chutney and mix well.

Can be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 week.
